LaserCubes in the SCIF
(Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility)
Cubix offers a secure desktop solution for government and military sites that seek connection to SIPRNET (Secret Internet Protocol Router Network), JWICS (Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications Systems) and other classified networks.
At the operators' desktops are LaserCubes -- extremely small footprint remote units with integrated graphics, audio and USB 2.0 ports. Users connect their monitors, keyboards and mice to these units. No hard drive or data resides at the desktop. Users still retain full PC functionality (not thin client).
The LaserCube operator units are connected to LaserBlades, which contain the PC processors, memory, hard drives, and gigabit Ethernet NICs (either copper or fiber). LaserBlades are located in secure SCIFs, more than a hundred meters from workers. Data stored on hard drives, therefore, are under the complete control of network administrator security personnel.
The LaserBlades are nested in rack mount cabinets, in climate controlled, easy-to-manage, easy-to-service locations. LaserBlades provide multiple copper and/or fiber optic network connections to classified or unclassified networks.
This configuration is now in service at Department of Homeland Security and numerous military sites around the USA.
