Air Force Research Lab validates LaserSystem-SABER for Multi-Level Trusted Workstation 3D users
Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) has selected Cubix LaserSystem-SABER as the hardware platform for delivering real-time remote 3D graphics support to DODIIS (Department of Defense Intelligence Information System) Trusted Workstation users.
LaserSystem-SABER allows a cost saving by reducing the need for separate hardware systems dedicated to running compartmented applications. One LaserSystem-SABER can replace from three to as many as ten separate dedicated computers.
In addition to hardware savings, the number of software licenses is reduced, so potential software costs could be reduced dramatically as well.
LaserSystem-SABER preserves the DODIIS Trusted Workstation software infrastructure that maintains segregation of differing security classification and sensitivity levels on a single physical computer. LaserSystem-SABER utilizes Sun™ Trusted Solaris™ 10 TX with thick client trusted extensions.
LaserSystem-SABER nicely complements thin-client visualization products, which are typically used by administrative workers. LaserSystem-SABER is designed for power users and visualization workers that require high performance, real-time 3D graphics.
