Air Force Research Lab validates LaserSystem-DTW for DODIIS Trusted Workstation 3D users

AFRL selects LaserCube-DTWLaserSystem-DTW delivers multi-level security plus real-time responsive remote 3D for graphics-intensive applications in virtualization projects – AFRL validated!

Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) selects remote 3D graphics solution from Cubix for DODIIS Trusted Workstations.

AFRL has selected Cubix LaserSystem-DTW as the hardware platform for delivering real-time remote 3D graphics support to DODIIS Trusted Workstation (DTW) users.

LaserSystem-DTW allows a cost saving by reducing the need for separate hardware systems dedicated to running compartmented applications. One LaserSystem-DTW can replace from three to as many as twelve separate dedicated computers.

In addition to hardware savings, the number of software licenses is reduced as well, so potential software costs could be reduced by as much as 90% per operator.

LaserSystem-DTW preserves the DODIIS (Department of Defense Intelligence Information System) Trusted Workstation software infrastructure that maintains segregation of differing security classification and sensitivity levels on a single physical computer. LaserSystem-DTW utilizes Sun Trusted Solaris 10 with thick client trusted extensions.

LaserSystem-DTW nicely complements thin-client visualization products, which are typically used by administrative workers. LaserSystem-DTW is designed for power users and graphical operators that require high performance, real-time 3D graphics.
